The Collection

Not every painting begins with a destination.

Sometimes it begins with a feeling, a conversation, an unforgettable building, a walk through the countryside or simply something that catches my eye and refuses to let go.

The Inspirations Collection brings together paintings that don't fit neatly into a single subject. Instead, they're connected by one thing, the spark that first inspired them.

 

The Inspiration

Inspiration can come from almost anywhere.

I might wake up knowing exactly what I want to paint. It could be an animal, a person, a museum, a woodland or something I noticed during on a day that continues to occupy my thoughts.

I never force these ideas. They appear naturally, and when they do, I know it's time to paint.

This freedom allows me to explore subjects that sit outside my usual collections while remaining true to the way I work.

My Creative Process

Like all of my work, these paintings are created using layered mixed media techniques.

Without the expectations of a particular subject, the creative process becomes even more intuitive. Texture, colour and composition evolve together until the painting feels complete.

Many of these works become some of my most personal paintings because

they begin with pure curiosity rather than a plan.
