The Inspiration

What fascinates me most is the emotional response these paintings create.

Collectors are often drawn to an Icon because of a personal memory. A favourite song, an unforgettable sporting moment or an artist who shaped a particular time in their lives. The painting becomes far more than a portrait, it becomes a reminder of something deeply personal.

That emotional connection is what inspires me to paint these subjects.

 

My Creative Process

Each Icon is built using layers of acrylic, collage and textured mixed media.

Rather than striving for photographic realism, I allow expressive marks and layered surfaces to become part of the story, reflecting the complexity and personality of each subject.

The aim is not simply to paint a face, but to capture the feeling people associate with it.
