Bob Marley is an original mixed media artwork celebrating one of the most influential and instantly recognisable figures in music and popular culture.
Gill captures Marley with an expression filled with warmth and joy, surrounding him with a vibrant combination of deep reds, burnt orange, rich purples, turquoise and flashes of green.
The portrait has an immediate presence, but as with every artwork in Gill's ICONS collection, there is much more to discover beneath the surface.
Look closely and layers of paint are interwoven with typography, newspaper fragments, dates, concert references and imagery connected to Marley's life and musical legacy. Some elements are deliberately prominent while others disappear into the paint, inviting you to explore the artwork differently each time you see it.
