Manhattan Haze captures a softer, more atmospheric side of New York, where the familiar architecture of Manhattan appears through layers of ethereal colour, texture and light.
 
Created using my distinctive strip technique, fragments of the city are layered and reassembled across the canvas, allowing the Empire State Building, yellow cabs, street signs and soaring architecture to emerge gradually from the composition. Muted greys, soft blues, warm neutrals and flashes of colour give the painting an almost dreamlike quality, as though Manhattan is being recalled through memory rather than simply observed.
 
The artwork explores the same New York view as Stars & Stripes, but with an entirely different emotional response. Where Stars & Stripes celebrates the intensity and vibrancy of Manhattan, Manhattan Haze is quieter and more contemplative, capturing that extraordinary moment when light, atmosphere and architecture seem to merge.
Rich in layered detail, collage and texture, this is a statement original that continues to reveal new elements the longer you spend with it.
