The Inspiration
Habana was inspired by wandering through the streets of Old Havana, where every corner seems to tell a story. The weathered buildings, vibrant colours and unmistakable atmosphere create a city unlike anywhere else in the world.
 
The Story Behind the Painting
Some places leave an impression long after you've returned home, and Havana was one of them.
Walking through the narrow streets, I was captivated by the layers of colour, peeling facades and beautiful colonial architecture that have aged with remarkable character. Everywhere you look there is life, classic American cars, balconies overflowing with history, music drifting through open windows and people simply going about their day.
Rather than painting every architectural detail, I wanted to capture the feeling of being there. Rich layers of mixed media, expressive textures and bold colour create the energy and warmth that makes Havana so unforgettable.
The painting invites the viewer to wander down the street, discovering new details each time they look, just as every walk through the city reveals something unexpected.
